Lele. If you were to ask Phe who Lele is, she would say it’s the UWC Lele. The one who was named Lele because her name is Siphelele. It’s hard to pronounce for some people. Anyway, she loves the name Lele now because it is the adult her. The one who is mature and moved across the world. Reining from the kingdom of Eswatini in the south of Africa, Siphelele is the girl doing IB in a country she has never lived in before. I am the editor for Humans of UWCM and have been an interviewer before as well. I live on campus, and I have very diverse interests. Sciences and theatre have always been my thing. And in my last year of high school, I discovered my unconditional love for theatre as a whole because before that I only did poetry, which I did not mind, as it was about language, and language was a subject, so it is not too off the academic realm…or at least not way too off. But acting and dance were also some things that I really liked to do…which makes sense because I did an activity similar to both in my freshman year of high school and dropped it after a year. So, in that moment, I was scrambling for moments and an opportunity to perform for my peers. Panic mode. Anyways, apart from me being humbled by mother nature and destiny, I came to UWC and instantly after joining this community, I felt and knew that in this environment, no one would judge me for wanting to do two sciences and do theatre as my CAS. And evidently, I nailed the musical and performed physical theatre for Vulnus, the feminist club in the school. I was resourcefully doing what I like in school and outside of school, and making the most of it. So, yeah, that’s me. You might be wondering how I got into this situation of editing people’s stories. Well, the answer is, it turns out OCDing over the correct use of punctuation and phrases that make sense comes in handy eventually.
